Today in this post I will tell you how you can use Indian Rupee Sign in your windows computer. Back on 15th July 2010 Indian Government approved the new symbol for Indian Rupee which will be sign of Indian currency. And yesterday night Microsoft released an update for Windows Vista and Windows 7 user by which you will able to use and see Indian Rupee text sign ₹ in your computer and internet.

If you are using any of this operating system Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 then you can download and install this update (KB 2496898) in your computer (to download you need to Validation Genuine Windows copy) and you will able to use it by typing 20B9 followed by Alt+X (not case sensitivity).

Problem: But if you create a document using the Indian Rupee sign ₹ and share it with anyone who doesn’t have this updated font in their computer then they won’t be able to see the Indian Rupee sign ₹.

Solution: You can save that document in to PDF and send that PDF file.

If you want to use this font on your blog or website just use this HTML code ₹ or copy-past that Indian Rupee sign ₹ from your Microsoft Office word document or Notepad and past it where ever you want. But this also have same problem that if anyone who don’t have latest font in their computer they will not able to see.

For instance if you have latest font update in your computer then you will able to see Indian Rupee sign ₹ many places in this post. Otherwise you may see a box or something else in place of Indian Rupee sign ₹.
