Today in this post I will tell you how you can split large files using 7-Zip. If you are looking forward to send some large files to your friends, so you can use WinRAR but in case if you are looking for an alternative of WinRAR as it is not free then you can use 7-Zip.
7-Zip lets you compress files into 7z, bzip2, gzip, tar, wim, xz and zip, you can select what will be your compression level, what should be the maximum size of each split volumes, make compressed file encrypted (even file name can be encrypted), etc.
To split using 7-Zip just go to 7-zip.org download and install it in your computer, select all the file/folder which you want to compress (and split), then right-click, select 7-Zip –> Add to archive…, now specify as you want to compress and split you file and then click on OK button to start.
