Hi! Everyone, hope you all are fine.
Today in this post I will tell you how you can track Indian Railways trains. Indian Railways have partnered with IIT Kanpur in a project called Simran, where people can track Indian Railways trains in real-time. They use GPRS to track current location and speed of trail.
You can simply visit simran.in and select the train (from left navigation) and then it will tell you Closest Station [A/C], Next Stop [Km], Speed and more. You can also view them in 11 different languages Hindi, Marathi, Bengali/Asamese, Gujrati, Kannad, Oriya, Telgu, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil and English.
If you are traveling and don’t have internet connect then you will also able to receive status via SMS. Simply send an SMS to +91-94-1521-3409 or +91-94-1521-3493 with T<SPACE><TRAIN NUMBER>. E.g.: if your train number is 1607 then type T 1607 and send it to +91-94-1521-3409 or +91-94-1521-3493 and you will receive train status via SMS instantly.
Currently we have to access to the status of only 10 Indian Railways train. Hoping very soon we going to see many more trains will also get added. The design is not so good looking, however the service seems to be great.
