Today in this post I will tell you how you can get notified you have new email by seeing Gmail’s favicon (icon). When we visit websites other than Gmail we can find out if we have any new unread email or not by seeing the title of Gmail tab/window but when we have opened many tabs by title gets hide and only we can able to see the icon of that tab. So Gmail have come up with a tricky solution by which we can find if we have any new emails or not by seeing that icon.
You just need to do is
- Go to Gmail.com
- Login to your account
- Select Options icon –> Mail settings
- Select Labs tab
- Now search and enable Unread message icon option
- And click on Save Changes button (at bottom of the page)
Now as many unread emails will be there in your inbox you will able to see that number on Gmail’s icon. It will only work with following browsers Epic, Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.
